Methodology Explained
WebSocket Requests
We establish a lightweight WebSocket connection to a reliable time server and send multiple time requests in quick succession. This reduces the overhead of repeated HTTP connections and provides faster, more consistent measurements.
Latency Measurement
Each request is tagged with the moment it leaves your system and compared with the server’s response. The Round Trip Time (RTT) is calculated, giving a precise measurement of network delay for every sample.
Best Sample Selection
Instead of averaging across many responses, we select the single sample with the lowest RTT. This minimizes the impact of jitter, queuing, and other network noise, providing the most trustworthy offset estimate.
Practical Accuracy
By always using the fastest, cleanest measurement, this method achieves a stable and accurate reflection of your system’s clock difference without the complexity of statistical averaging.
